First Timers Information

So, you think that you want to play paintball but you have no idea where to start or how any of it works. Hopefully this information will help you.

Typically paintball play consists of these basic things.

First and foremost is safety equipment!

  • Mask/Goggles- Face and eye protection (legitimate paintball mask, not your dirtbike gogs)
  • Barrel Plug- Device on the end of the barrel keeping paintballs from exiting the barrel towards others when unintended or not "IN PLAY"

Next is the equipment

  • Marker- What fires the paintballs, also referred to as a "paintball gun."
  • Hopper- Typically sits on top of the marker acting as a container for your paintballs (ammo).
  • Tank- The tank is pressurized with a gas used by the marker to fire the paintballs. Typically the gasses used are Co2 or High Pressure Air(HPA).
  • Paintballs- Gelatin capsules (similar to pill capsules) filled with a NON TOXIC/Washable paint. Typically .68 caliber. Used to mark the opponent.

Last but not least is a place to play

  • Paintball Park/Field- A place designed for SAFE paintball play. Regulated games with refferees, safety rules, various types of fields, safety netting (to protect those who are not playing/spectators)

You can play at other places, we are not here to stop you. Choose an area away from people, cars, buildings, and streets (ask permission if the land is not yours). Please follow proper safety when choosing to play at areas other than paintball fields. We would like to keep paintball injuries to a minimum, not only could you badly hurt yourself or a friend, the news likes to give paintball a bad name whenever possible. We would like to keep the name of paintball positive. Street signs and cars are not for target practice and shooting at them can get you in a serious amount of trouble with the law. Paintball markers are considered dangerous and are considered by law to be firearms. Think about it. Please refrain from doing such terrible things and giving the world a reason to hate paintball.

Paintball is statistically safer than bowling.

Paintballs can be painfull

If paintballs really hurt that bad, why would people continue to play? Again, please think about it...

How is play conducted at our field?

We have what is called "OPEN PLAY" on Saturdays and Sundays. Open Play is a short way of saying "The fields are open to those who wish to play". Meaning you can come to the field by yourself or with a friend/group of friends.

If you do not have your own equipment to play with we do have rental equipment availible.

When we have open play our refferees organise groups of Open players aka "Walk on's" trying to balance the teams for fair play.

Games typically last between 2 and 10 min. Some games may have a time limit, usually set at 5 min.

There is no schedule for games. We play as much as possible while allowing some time for other players to reload their hoppers and fill thier tanks, and occasionally take a break.

Paintball can also be a spectator sport. We have netting to protect spectators for this purpose. It can be almost as much fun to watch as it is can be to play.

Paintball has no specific age range of players. We have players ranging from 10 years old to 60+ years old. Everyone has a good time.
